Admissions

Doors Open Fall of 2026

Welcome

We are thrilled you are considering The Rooted Meadows Waldorf School to begin growing your child's love of learning. Each child is honored and guided through their seasons of childhood. Being part a Waldorf community is a wonderful and supportive experience and thrives best when each family believes and connects with the educational pedagogy and experience they have chosen for their child.

The admissions process and steps help both the school and families to be confident that this school is a good fit and will be able to support the child's social, emotional, and academic success.  Admissions will open December 2025

"It wasn’t easy. Sometimes it was stressful, not knowing where next year’s tuition was going to come from... but it was so worth it. So many parents would ask us what we were doing different with you three... I always knew it was our choice to send you to a Waldorf school. That feeling as a parent... that you made one really good choice in the life of your children, that to me is priceless."

Financials

Because the core principles and curriculum setup of Waldorf education are different from the public standards and timeframe, the Rooted Meadows Waldorf School is a private nonprofit entity and does not receive government funding.

Having paid trained Waldorf teachers which are vital to a true Waldorf experience and education means there are salaries and benefits that need paid. After much research and discussion, being united in a building means there are facility expenses, along with management details and expenses of a school. Waldorf education is also a very tactile, hands on education so supplies are also a necessary expense. All that being said, there are expenses and therefore revenue to cover those expenses are generated through tuition, fees, fundraising, and generous donations.

Expenses are able to be reduced from a typical private Waldorf school by creating a shortened day, fewer days, fewer required classes, and volunteer taught classes similar to a homeschool co-op. This opens the door to having more families enjoy and benefit from participating in a Waldorf education. Tution and Fees will be one flat rate for all families. For financial assistance, there is the Idaho State Parent Choice Tax Refund starting in January of 2025. Each family can apply for and hopefully receive funds varying but up to $5,000 per student. That will be the individual family’s responsibility to apply for.
